In a joint application with JP Morgan Chase, TROX AITCS beat off strong competition from Mitsubishi Electric and Balticare to win the H&V News Awards ‘Air Conditioning Product of the Year’ for the CO2OLdesk, Dealer Desk Cooling System. This is the first of hopefully many awards for CO2OLdesk.
Incredibly, AITCS won the same category last year, with CO2OLrac!
CO2OLdesk is integrated within the raised floor beneath the dealer’s desk and makes use of a fan-assisted heat exchanger supplied with liquid CO2 to remove the heat produced by computers to improve the comfort conditions for occupants. Using CO2 also avoids the potential problems of water leaks close to IT systems. The unit is extremely slim, so allowing it to be installed in virtually any low height office thus providing Investment Banks greater choice over their trading locations.
Judges Observations:
The TROX CO2OLdesk has been well received as an innovative solution to a growing problem of increasing office heat gains from IT equipment. The judging panel praised the thinking behind tackling the problem at source by removing heat directly from the desk and said they expected this product to be enthusiastically received by companies in the financial sector with busy and crowded trading floors.
